Armenia Prolongs Supply of Electricity to Georgia
(Tbilisi, January 21, Civil Georgia) – Armenia will continue supplying Georgian capital Tbilisi with electricity, Armenian news agency Arminfo reports on January 21.
Terms of electricity supply to the Georgian capital expired on January 20 this year.
According to the Georgian Fuel-Energy Ministry Georgia receives 120 megawatt of electricity from Armenia per day.
Armenia supplies electricity to Georgia since 29 December 2001, because of explosion at the AES-Mtkvari (US company AES is electricity distributing company in Tbilisi) power plant on December 22.
Russia and Azerbaijan also supply Georgia with electricity after damage of two power units at the AES-Mtkvari power plant.
