Negotiations with Kidnappers Banned

(Tbilisi, January 14, Civil Georgia) – Internal Affairs Minister Koba Narchemashvili issued a special decree prohibiting representatives of law enforcement agencies to negotiate with the kidnappers.

Decree also bans giving ransom to the criminals to release abducted person.

Decree become necessary because of the tense situation in the criminal-ridden Pankisi gorge where two people are still detained by the kidnappers at the moment.
