Georgia Receives Additional Electricity from Azerbaijan

(Tbilisi. January 5. Civil Georgia) – To make up electricity shortfall, caused by the damages of two units of the AES-Mtkvari thermal power station and high-voltage power line Kavkasioni, Georgia receives 50 megawatts per day from Azerbaijan.

Georgian capital Tbilisi receives only 300 megawatts of electricity at the moment including that of Azerbaijan and Armenia as well, while approximately 600 megawatt is needed per day.

Georgian Energy Ministry fails to restore high-voltage power line Kavkasioni damaged by heavy snowfalls on January 2. Power line is used for supplying electricity from Russia to Georgia.
