Internal Affairs Minister Fires Deputy Ministers

(Tbilisi. December 5. Civil Georgia) – Internal Affairs new Minister Koba Narchemashvili dismissed his two deputy ministers on December 5.

The first Deputy Minister Zurab Chkhaidze, along with the other Internal Affairs’ high officials, is still on the post. Zurab Chkhaidze was among them who slammed independent TV channel Rustavi 2 before the State Security Ministry’s raid on the broadcasting company.

It is unknown yet whether Koba Narchemashvili intends to appoint a new Deputy Minister responsible for the human rights protection in the law enforcement agencies. Internal Affairs Minister promised about it in his program speech during his candidature’s discussion in the Parliament.
