One More New Faction in the Parliament

One more faction will be formed in the parliament from the members of the “Citizens’ Union” faction. Elguja Medzmariashvili will be the chairman of the faction. A new group in the parliament will be loyal to President Shevardnadze. Decision was taken during the “Citizens’ Union” faction meeting this evening.

Only 50 MPs will remain in the “Citizens’ Union” faction. It is also known that Rezo Adamia plans to quit the post of chairman of the faction.

Disintegration process took place in the “Citizen’s Union of Georgia” party after the President Eduard Shevardnadze’s resignation from the post of Chairman of ruling CUG.
