Ransom Paid for Kidnapped Spanish Businessmen

According to the Spanish newspaper El Mundo, brother of one of the Spanish Businessmen kidnapped in Georgia on November 30, 2000 paid a part of the ransom on September 2. The newspaper does not specify the amount paid. Reportedly ransom was paid in a village of Duisi, Pankisi Gorge, North-East Georgia. None of the kidnapped has been released yet.

The Interior Ministry of Georgia neither confirmed nor denied the information. Georgian law enforcement agencies say they are against paying the ransom.
