Burjanadze, Turkmen Leadership Discuss Energy Cooperation

Turkmenistan and Georgia have agreed to set up an inter-governmental commission to boost cooperation in energy issues, Georgian Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze?s press office reported.

Burjanadze, on a working visit to Turkmenistan on June 6-7, held talks with her Turkmen counterpart and Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov. Energy issues topped the agenda.

?Turkmenistan will be Georgia’s strategic partner in the energy sector,? Burjanadze?s press office quoted her as saying. No further details were given.
