AzerGaz Resumes Gas Supply to Georgia

AzerGaz, an Azerbaijani state-controlled company, has resumed gas supplies to Georgia, Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation (GOGC) said on June 1.

1.2 million cubic meters of gas a day will be delivered through the Karadag-Tbilisi pipeline, at USD 120 per 1,000 cubic meters.

The new agreement is in fact a renewal of an earlier contract signed between Georgia and Azerbaijan in December 2006.

Georgia has received a total of 115 million cubic meters of gas from AzerGaz during the first quarter of 2007, according to GOGC.

GOGC confirmed that, apart from gas from AzerGaz, Georgia would continue to receive its share of gas from Azerbaijan?s Shah-Deniz field.
