PACE President: Rose Revolution Inspiration for East Europe

In a letter to Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe (PACE) Ren? van der Linden said that Georgia?s Rose Revolution ?was and remains an inspiration to democratic forces throughout Eastern Europe.?
 
He congratulated President Saakashvili on his initiative to hold the two-day forum ?Europe’s New Wave of Liberation: Democracy and Transformation? in Tbilisi on November 22-23 and expressed regret for being unable to attend the event.
 
The letter also enclosed a message for the participants of the Forum, which said: ?The Parliamentary Assembly is your natural partner in the process of democratization and we will always stand ready to offer our assistance. We share the passion and commitment of participants in this Forum, and we wish you every success in your work.?
