Burjanadze: Bomb Threat is a Provocation

Georgian Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze said that a bomb threat received from an anonymous caller on April 19 is a provocation and aims at discrediting Georgia on the eve of U.S. President George W. Bush?s visit to Georgia, scheduled for May 10.

?I am sure this is a false bomb threat and a provocation. I think some forces are trying to create a sense of insecurity and instability in Georgia? And this is directly linked with the visit of President Bush,? Nino Burjanadze told reporters on April 19.

A Parliamentary session was halted and the Parliament building was evacuated after an anonymous phone call warned the legislators that there was a bomb inside the Parliament building.

Currently, experts from the security service are searching the entire building.
