Officials Deny Georgian MPs’ Visit Kyrgyzstan

The Georgian Parliament’s press office has officially denied reports that a group of the Georgian parliamentarians are visiting Kyrgyzstan.

“We do not confirm this report, since no official mission has been dispatched by the [Georgian] Parliament to Kyrgyzstan,” head of the Parliament’s press office Vladimir Tevdoradze told Civil Georgia on March 24.

Kyrgyz President’s spokesman Abdil Segizbayev accused “some of the Georgian parliamentarians” of acting as “catalysts of disorders in the south” of the country, RIA Novosti news agency reported on March 23.

Unofficial reports say that one of the Georgian leading parliamentarians from the ruling National Movement party Givi Targamadze, who chairs the Parliamentary Committee for Defense and Security, is visiting Kyrgyzstan.
