Gas Supply Resumes to Tbilisi

(Tbilisi, January 27, 2003. Civil Georgia) – Gas supply was resumed to 6 districts out of 10 of capital city Tbilisi this morning, gas distributing company Tbilgaz reports.

The gas supply to Georgia stopped on January 17 as the reserve pipeline was damaged on the territory of Russia’s North Ossetian Republic. Earlier, the main export pipeline was also damaged. The both pipes were damaged as a result of the explosions.

The gas supply to the remaining 4 districts of Tbilisi will be resumed after the technical preparations, which are needed for stabilizing the pressure in the pipes.
