Georgia’s Parliament will be relocated from Tbilisi to the country’s second-largest city of Kutaisi this year. Construction of the new building, designed by CMD Ingenieros, is currently ongoing in Kutaisi and should be completed by May 26 – deadline set by President Saakashvili who said that the Parliament should hold its first session in the new building on Georgia’s Independence Day. The full relocation, he said, would take place when the new Parliament is elected later this year. Civil.ge’s intern Marco Fieber took some photos of the construction site in Kutaisi on March 8.
