President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy will hold talks with the Georgian leadership on May 14.
Before arriving in Tbilisi late on Tuesday night, Van Rompuy visited Ukraine and Moldova.
He will meet PM Irakli Garibashvili and President Margvelashvili, as well as will deliver a speech at the Europe House in Tbilisi.
The visit comes ahead of signing the Association Agreement, also including deep and comprehensive free trade area, between Georgia and the EU later next month.
The Georgian Foreign Ministry said that that Van Rompuy’s visit demonstrates EU’s “strong support” to Georgia.
