‘Keep in Close Touch with Voters’ – Saakashvili to Ruling Party MPs
President Saakashvili told his ruling party lawmakers at a meeting on February 28 to keep in a close touch with their constituencies amid mounting economic difficulties associated with high inflation.
“Focusing on distributing available scarce resources, assisting the most vulnerable people and being maximally in close touch with our voters – and it first and foremost concerns lawmakers elected from the provinces – is decisive for creating a better future for each of our citizen,” Saakashvili said in televised remarks.
He also said that amid increasing prices on the world markets, including on oil, “our task is to be as disciplined as possible” and “to give more freedom and create more opportunities to businesses.”
“We should also maintain advantages that we already have: non-corrupt state, tax and law enforcement system, good tax environment and we should also further deepen these advantages,” Saakashvili said.
