President Request MPs to Adopt ‘National Consensus’ Document

Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze informed lawmakers on October 3 that President Saakashvili has asked the Parliament to develop a concept on National Consensus, which will outline the major priorities of the country?s development which are universely accepted by all political forces.

?We should really have a document which will show both our enemies and friends that we, all the political forces in Georgia, agree on several major issues, including our territorial integrity and our western oriented foreign policy. We should show everyone that on these issues we have a common position which will never change,? Nino Burjanadze said at a Parliamentary Bureau session on Monday.
