Former MP Sentenced to 15-Day Imprisonment for ‘Hooliganism’

A Georgian court sentenced former Georgian MP Guram Sharadze, who was arrested on November 25 for alleged hooliganism, to 15-day imprisonment and fined him by USD 2,400.    


Sharadze was detained after he tore posters of Rafal Olbinski, a celebrated Polish-American artist, off the walls at an exhibition at the Georgian National Library on November 25.


Minister of Culture Giorgi Gabashvili has already condemned Sharadze?s action as ‘vandalism.’
