CEC Works Out Votes’ Recounting Procedures

(Tbilisi, June 28, Civil Georgia) – Today Central Election Commission (CEC) started to work out the procedures and rule of recounting votes cast at Tbilisi city council – Sakrebulo election on June 2.

The District Court of Tbilisi ruled positively on National Movement – Democratic Front party’s suit to recount the votes, because of the numerous procedural violations observed during the local elections in Georgian capital.

According to the District Court’s decision the CEC is to work out the procedure of recounting till July 3.

The Labors Party of Georgia and Mikheil Saakashvili’s National Movement obtained the most of the seats in Tbilisi Sakrebulo.
