Georgia Protests Against Russian Defense Minister’s Statement
(Tbilisi. December 22. Civil Georgia) – The Georgian Foreign Affairs Ministry issued a statement protesting against the announcement of the Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov.
On December 20 Ivanov stated that the terrorists occupy the part of the Georgian territory, thus government of Georgia is not ready to cooperate in combat of terrorism.
Foreign Affairs Ministry of Georgia stated today that Russian Defense Minister misleads mislead the world public opinion.
Russian authorities frequently accuse Georgia in harboring Chechen fighters. President Vladimer Putin stated on November 30 that Chechen fighters and Arab mercenaries occupied Pankisi gorge, eastern Georgia bordering rebel Republic of Chechnya.
