CoE Evaluates Implementation of Georgia’s Commitments

(Tbilisi. December 3. Civil Georgia) – Council of Europe (CoE) delegation visits Georgia today to evaluate how Georgia complies with its commitments laid down by the organization when Georgia joined the CoE in 1999.

The CoE monitoring group visited Georgia for two days in early September, but the defined time period was not enough in order to determine whether Georgia performs the recommendations of the CoE.

In spite of commitment Georgia has not passed the law on national minorities yet. The monitoring group will also report outlook about the electoral bill and law on local self-governance passed by the Parliament of Georgia.
