Shevardnadze Suddenly Calls General Prosecutor’s Candidature Off

(Tbilisi. November 20. Civil Georgia) – President Shevardnadze called off the candidature of Nugzar Gabrichidze on the post of the Prosecutor-General late on November 19. President Shevardnadze proposed the candidature to the Parliament yesterday and changed his mind the same day somehow.

It was most likely that the Parliament would not approve high official of the Internal Affairs Ministry Nugzar Gabrichidze’s candidature.

It is unknown who will be President Shevardnadze’s new nominee on the post of the Prosecutor-General so far.
