Geostat: GDP Growth 2.9% in August
Georgia’s real GDP grew 2.9% in August, after 2.1% growth in July, according to preliminary data released by the state statistics office on Friday.
Economy grew 2.7% in the first eight months of this year, according to Geostat. Annual GDP growth in the same period of last year stood at 2.8%.
Government’s forecast for 2016 economic growth stands at 3%.
Georgia’s economy expanded by 2.8% in 2015, the weakest growth since 2009.
