Annual Inflation 4.1% in March ? Geostat
Georgia’s annual inflation rate stood at 4.1% in March after 5.6% in the previous month, according to the state statistics office Geostat.
On the monthly basis there was 0.3% deflation in March.
Annual inflation in the healthcare group stood at 10.2% in March, driven by 18.7% year-on-year price hike for medical products, appliances and equipment and 11.6% y/y increase of prices for outpatient services.
Food prices were up 2.3% y/y in March. Prices in the group of alcoholic beverages and cigarettes rose by 14% y/y in March, caused by increase of excise tax on tobacco.
Prices in transport group were down by 3.6% y/y in March.
