With about 870 soldiers, Georgia is the second largest troop contributor to the NATO-led Resolute Support mission in Afghanistan. Georgian troops are stationed at the German army’s camp Marmal in Mazar-i-Sharif, performing duties of quick reaction force, as well as at the Bagram Air Field in the Parwan province and in Kabul.
Khidasheli met Georgian soldiers in Kabul at the Resolute Support mission headquarters and deputy commander of the mission Lieutenant General Tim Radford on January 13.
