Greece Ratifies EU-Georgia Association Agreement

The Parliament of Greece ratified on November 18 EU’s Association Agreements with Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.

Greece became the 26th EU-member state to endorse Georgia’s Association Agreement, which also includes deep and comprehensive free trade treaty, signed with the EU in June, 2014.

“The two remaining [EU-member] states [Belgium and Italy] plan to ratify the agreement in the nearest future,” the Georgian Foreign Ministry said on November 18.

The Georgian Parliament ratified the agreement on July 18, 2014, and the European Parliament ratified the treaty on December 18, 2014. A large part of the agreement has been provisionally applied since September 1, 2014.
