Georgian Leaders Condemn Paris Terror Attacks
The Georgian leadership has condemned series of “horrendous” terrorist attacks in Paris, which left at least 120 people dead, and expressed solidarity to the French people and government, as well as reiterated Tbilisi’s support in fight against terrorism.
Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili said that this “shocking tragedy” in Paris “unites the civilized world in solidarity to France and the French people.”

“On the other hand, it also unites us in fight against the huge evil – terrorism,” PM Garibashvili said.
President Giorgi Margvelashvili said in his message to the French counterpart, François Hollande, that Georgia has been “shocked by horrendous terrorist attacks.”
“This is the crime directed against the entire civilized world and humanity; we should all get united in fight against it,” the Georgian president said.

“The Georgian people share the huge pain of the French people. We stand beside you and express firm support in efforts directed against terrorism,” the President added.
The Georgian Foreign Ministry has asked the Georgian nationals, who are currently in Paris, to stay indoors. It also announced hotline at the Georgian embassy in Paris for the Georgian citizens.
Georgian Foreign Minister, Giorgi Kvirikashvili, said he’s “deeply shocked” by terrorist attacks in Paris, which, he said, are “the gravest of crimes against humankind.”

Georgian Defense Minister, Tina Khidasheli, said in a statement that “the entire world should be united in fight against terrorism.”
Parliament Speaker, Davit Usupashvili, who also extended sympathy and solidarity to the French people, said in a statement that this “huge tragedy” shows once again the need of unity in fight against terrorism.
Leader of the opposition UNM party’s parliamentary group, MP Davit Bakradze, said in a statement that the terrorist acts in Paris were “attack not only against the French state and people, but also against freedom and democracy.”
On Saturday people started bringing flowers to the French embassy in Tbilisi.
