U.S. Welcomes Ratification of Georgia Association Agreement by European Parliament

Ratification of Georgia’s Association Agreement with the EU by the European Parliament marks “yet another important milestone in Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration,” the U.S. Department of State said.

“The vote demonstrates Europe’s growing confidence in Georgia and the country’s continued pursuit of wide-ranging reforms,” State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki said at a press briefing on December 18.

“The United States stands with the EU in our support of the Georgian people as they pursue these reforms and realize their integration into Europe and the wider Euro-Atlantic community,” she added.
