Tbilisi to Host Summit of Azerbaijani, Georgian, Turkish Presidents

Presidents of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey will gather for a trilateral summit in Tbilisi on May 6 to discuss “results of twenty years of cooperation in economic, trade, transportation and energy” sectors, as well as implementation of ongoing joint projects, according to the Georgian president’s administration.

Turkish President Abdullah Gül will arrive in Tbilisi later on Monday afternoon; bilateral meeting with his Georgian counterpart Giorgi Margvelashvili is scheduled for May 7.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will arrive in the Georgian capital on Tuesday morning; after participation in the summit, he will meet his Georgian counterpart and PM Irakli Garibashvili before leaving Tbilisi on Tuesday evening.

Holding of the high-level trilateral summit was agreed when President Margvelashvili visited Turkey and Azerbaijan earlier this year.
