Georgian President Holds Talks in Tallinn

Georgian President, Giorgi Margvelashvili, met his Estonian counterpart, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, and other senior officials in Tallinn on April 28.

He participated in an annual conference of the Freedom Online Coalition in Tallinn. In his address to the forum, Margvelashvili said that in 2008 in parallel with military aggression from Russia, Georgia was also a target of cyber attack. He also spoke about importance of freedom of expression. Freedom House lists Georgia among “free” countries in its Freedom on the Net report.

In Tallinn President Margvelashvili also met PM Taavi Rõivas; parliament speaker Eiki Nestor and Foreign Minister Urmas Paet. Georgia’s EU and NATO integration were the focus of discussions, according to the Georgian president’s office.
