Russian Patriarch Congratulates Margvelashvili on Election
The head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, congratulated Giorgi Margvelashvili on his victory in the October 27 presidential elections.
“I hope that your work on the president’s post will open a new page in the history of relations between Georgia and Russia, the peoples of which are tied by common faith and common spiritual, moral and cultural values,” Patriarch Kirill says in his message of congratulation.
