CEC: Number of Voters 3,537,249

Georgia has total of 3,537,249 voters ahead of the October 27 presidential elections, according to the figures released by the Central Election Commission (CEC).

This figure is by 76 602 less compared with the number of voters registered during the 2012 October parliamentary elections.

Total of 3,544,770 voters were registered for the May 2010 local elections; 3,472,876 – for the May 2008 parliamentary elections and 3,372,836 – for the January presidential elections of the same year.

Figures released by the Central Election Commission on July 6 also include number of voters in each of the 73 districts, which also represent single-mandate constituencies where majoritarian MPs are elected. The largest constituency is Georgia’s second-largest city of Kutaisi with total of 158,502 voters. The smallest constituency is Kazbegi, a mountainous district in Mtskheta-Mtianeti region with 5,776 voters. This year fewer voters were registered in the both constituencies than during the last year parliamentary elections, when number of voters in Kutaisi was 162,732 and in Kazbegi – 5,810.
