Geostat Reports 2.1% Annual Deflation in March

Georgia’s annual inflation remained below zero at -2.1% in March, according to the state statistics office Geostat.
On monthly basis there was 0.1% deflation.
Prices on food and non-alcoholic beverages were down by 3.1% y/y in March and there was an 8.2% y/y decline in prices in housing, water, electricity and gas. Transportation prices decreased by 2.3% y/y in March.
Prices on healthcare services increased 3.3% y/y and prices on hotels and restaurants went up by 2% y/y in March, according to figures released by Geostat on April 3.
