Finance Minister Replaced
Kakha Baindurashvili has been replaced on the post of Finance Minister by his deputy Dimitri Gvindadze, PM Nika Gilauri said on June 17.
He said that Baindurashvili, who held the post of Finance Minister since February 2009, had quit the post upon his personal initiative and would now become chairman of supervisory board of the state-owned Georgian Post.
The government put the Georgian Post on sale last October, but it has not yet been privatized.
The new Finance Minister, Dimitri Gvindadze, held the post the deputy minister since 2005.
PM Nika Gilauri said that it was made possible to issue USD 500 million eurobonds in April to refinance the previous one thanks to successful work of Gvindadze.
