Saakashvili Visits France

President Saakashvili, who arrived in Paris for an official visit on Sunday, will meet his French counterpart, Nicolas Sarkozy, on June 8.

Georgia’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Nino Kalandadze, said Russia was in contravention of its own commitments undertaken under the six-point ceasefire accord, mediated by the French President in August, 2008. She said that the issue would be raised during the meeting between the two Presidents. Economic cooperation will also be discussed, she said.

In Paris the Georgian President also plans meeting with French PM Francois Fillon and Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner.
