Petition on Public Broadcaster

With the purpose of holding elections of General Director of the Public Broadcaster transparently and fairly, we deem it necessary the board of trustees to meet the following demands:

1. To air on August 6 live public debates on the [public TV’s] First Channel with the participation of [shortlisted] candidates, who will progress in the second round; members of the board of trustees and civil society representatives;
2. To air on August 7 and August 8 on live interviewing of [shortlisted] candidates by the members of board of trustees;
3. To air live meeting with participation of a new General Director, members of the board of trustees and civil society representatives on the day when a winner is named.

In the event of non-fulfillment of our demands, we express distrust towards the decision of the board of trustees and reserve the right to demand postponement of election of Public Broadcaster’s General Director unless new board of trustees is elected.
