Saakashvili to Address Parliament, Debate with MPs
President Saakashvili will address the Parliament and then respond to lawmakers’ questions on July 20, Davit Bakradze, the parliamentary chairman, said on Thursday.
He said that the society would have an opportunity “to hear debates” on pressing issues at a parliamentary session.
President, according to the Constitution, has to make a state of nation address in the Parliament once in year. The recent such address was made in February, 2009, followed by debates with lawmakers from the parliamentary minority group. The planned event for July 20 will not be a formal state of the nation address.
