Budgetary Amendments Submitted to Parliament
Parliament is expected to pass budgetary amendments in early July giving green light to the government to issue treasury bills worth GEL 260 million on the domestic market.
The draft of budgetary amendments envisages increase of expenditures by total of GEL 312 million, according to the government. Apart of planned issuing of GEL 260 million treasury bills, funding to fill the target of increased expenditures will come from “grants and credits from the World Bank and Asia Development Bank,” PM Nika Gilauri said on June 6.
The Parliament, which held its first session on June 12 since the launch of protest rallies on April 9, approved a timetable for discussing the proposed budgetary amendments, according to which lawmakers will hold voting on the matter after July 4.
