Tskhinvali Wants to Charge Tbilisi for Water
The Georgian villages in the south of the breakaway South Ossetia will have to pay fee for potable and irrigation water running from the region from April 1, Eduard Kokoity, the breakaway region’s leader, said on February 17.
“Inform about it the Georgian side,” he told his government members, according to the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee. “Now we should define the water tariff.”
“We will cut water supply if the Georgian side refuses to pay,” he added.
