New Rights, Republicans to Announce Alliance

The opposition New Rights and Republican parties will announce about the setting up of an alliance based on shared views on how to bring the country out of the current crisis, representatives from the both parties have said.

The presentation of the alliance is planned on December 8.

Speculations are widespread that Georgia’s former ambassador to the United Nations, Irakli Alasania, may join the alliance. Although officials from the both parties have confirmed having consultations with Alasania, they remained tight-lipped on the details of possible cooperation. Alasania said he would speak about his future plans after he returns back to Tbilisi from New York “soon."
