CoE Congress of Local Authorities to Debate on Georgia-Russia War

The Council of Europe (CoE) Congress of the Local and Regional Authorities will debate on the local consequences of the August war at a session on December 2.

Gigi Ugulava, the Tbilisi Mayor and chairperson of the Russia’s North Ossetian Parliament Larissa Khabitsova, as well as Georgia’s and Russia’s representatives in the Congress will participate in the debates.

Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Thomas Hammarberg, who visited the war-affected areas on November 12-14, will also deliver speech at the Congress session on December 2.
