Saakashvili: Georgia, Azerbaijan Strike Five-Year Gas Deal
President Saakashvili said on November 14 that Georgia and Azerbaijan have signed a five-year agreement on gas supplies.
He told a group of Georgian journalists in Baku on the sideline of the energy summit that the agreement guaranteed that “there will be no increase in gas tariff for households in next five years.”
Saakashvili did not specify details of the agreement’s terms.
“This [agreement] is a very good example of very good cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan in these very difficult times,” he added.
