EU Envoy, Russian Deputy FM Discuss Georgia
Pierre Morel, the EU’s special representative for the Georgia crisis, met Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gigory Karasin in Moscow on October 25.
Both diplomats participated in the Geneva talks on October 15, which were suspended because of “procedural difficulties.”
“The need for a maximally flexible approach towards procedural parameters was noted [at the meeting between the two diplomats], in order to achieve desirable results at the Geneva meetings,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
The next meeting in Geneva is due on November 18.
It also said that current developments “in the zones adjacent to Abkhazia and South Ossetia” were discussed.
