Saakashvili Discusses Georgia with European, U.S. Officials

President Saakashvili held a closed-door meeting with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in New York to discuss the current situation in Georgia.

On the sideline of the UN General Assembly, President Saakashvili also met with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

On September 24, President Saakashvili and his Ukrainian counterpart, Victor Yushchenko, who is also visiting the United States, held talks with U.S. Republican presidential candidate John McCain and vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.
