Georgian FM Visits Turkey
Eka Tkeshelashvili, the Georgian foreign minister, arrived in Istanbul on Saturday, where she will meet her Turkish counterpart, Ali Babacan, the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry issued a brief statement on August 26, saying Georgia’s territorial integrity was important for Ankara.
After the trip to Turkey, Tkeshelashvili will leave for Brussels, where EU leaders are expected to discuss the Georgian crisis on September 1.
