Opposition Coalition Discusses Tactic
Leaders of the nine-party opposition bloc are holding meeting to decide about tactic as they refuse to accept the election results.
The bloc has been considering an option of boycotting the new parliament, but some of the opposition leaders within the bloc made it clear that the option would only work if two other parties (Labor and Christian-Democratic parties), which also cleared the 5% threshold joined the boycott.
The bloc has already held separate talks with leaders of the both parties. Shalva Natelashvili, the Labor Party leader, said he would support boycott if others did the same. Giorgi Targamadze, leader of Christian-Democratic Party, however, sounded hesitant over the option.
The nine-party opposition bloc’s press office said that the coalition leaders planned to hold a press conference to announce their decision outside the parliament at 8pm local time on May 23.
