Bagapsh: ?I am Pro-Russian?
In an interview to RIA Novosti news agency, the main opposition contender in the Abkhazia presidential elections, Sergey Bagapsh, said that in the event that he becomes the new President of Abkhazia, Abkhazia?s ?movement in the direction of Russia will increase further.?
?We are considered to be pro-Georgian, but we are pro-Russian,? Bagapsh said.
Official results of the October 3 polls have been delayed by the Abkhaz Central Election Commission. But initial reports say that Sergey Bagapsh has claimed victory in the elections with 51.1% of the votes going his way. His opponent, Moscow-backed Raul Khajimba, however, says that the elections were rigged.
