Regional Heads Arrested in Adjara

Police arrested the Heads of the Shuakhevi and Khulo districts in Adjara Autonomous Republic on October 5, for alleged misuse of power.

?Otar Tsetskhladze [the Head of Khulo district] and Nodar Kartsivadze [the Head of Shuakhevi district] are suspected to have links with illegal wood-cutting operations in Adjara,? Giorgi Papuashvili, the chief of the Autonomous Republic?s Interior Ministry Department, told reporters.
