MPs Propose to Develop Georgia’s Security Concept

The Georgian parliamentary bureau decided on October 4 to adopt a decree at a parliamentary session which will instruct the National Security Council to develop a national security doctrine for Georgia.

The proposal was initiated by Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Defense and Security MP Nika Rurua, who said that the country needs a document which will outline the key internal and external political priorities.

“Adoption of a national security doctrine is Georgia’s responsibility, as we have undertaken to develop this document in our Individual Partnership Action Plan (IPAP) which Georgia submitted to NATO,” MP Nika Rurua told reporters on October 4.
