Georgian Foreign Minister Visits Brussels
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Gela Bezhuashvili will pay a visit to Brussels on September 14-17, 2006.
Secessionist conflicts and Georgia?s cooperation with NATO and EU, in particular Georgia?s EU Neighborhood Policy Action Plan, will be high on the agenda during the visit.
Bezhuashvili plans talks with EU Commissioner for External Relations and Neighborhood Policy Benita Ferrero-Waldner; OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Belgian Foreign Minister Karel De Gucht; and European Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs.
The Georgian Foreign Minister will hold talks with NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer on September 15.
He will also meet Lithuanian Foreign Minister Petras Vaitekunas on the sideline of this visit.
Gela Bezhuashvili also plans to meet with Georgian Ambassadors accredited to EU-member states.
After visiting Brussels, the Georgian Foreign Minister will leave for Washington on September 17 and then will travel to New York for the UN General Assembly Session.
