Shootout Reported in S.Ossetia

Georgian and South Ossetian troops exchanged brief gunfire after midnight on September 10, causing no casualties, Georgian and Russian sources report.

According to Georgian media reports, the shootout was less intense than the one reported overnight on September 9.

According to the Russian command of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces in the conflict zone, the shootout occurred in the south of the breakaway region?s capital Tskhinvali, near the Georgian village of Ergneti, RIA Novosti news agency reported.
